Lights of yore

Lights of yore, or 'Vergeten Verlichting', a unique concept for a company that goes its own way and has specialised in 'forgotten lighting': always looking for timeless beauty, Miguel Algoet breathes new life into old lighting parts. You will be won over by the ageless character of the lighting you had forgotten existed.

The primaeval light

In addition to the oil lamp, the candle was until recently the most commonly used artificial light in our history. The light source not only determines the light colour but it is also a visual part of the fixture. We are a proponent of the principle of the 'naked' light bulb, which can be compared to a candle’s flame.

Light and architecture

We experience our surroundings through what we see. Our eyes capture the light which allows us to create the image we have of an interior. The light determines the colours we see, the light lays down a gilded sheen and casts shadows, the light is reflected. Without light there is no architecture.
